๐ ๐ ๐ On the turning of the seasons...
And ~5 days remaining to write postcards to voters!
๐๐ผ Hello, friends!
I am again keeping this installment brief, as I am squeezing postcard-writing into every last nook and cranny of my day. Weโre almost thereโฆso keep your heads up and spirits high! ๐ช๐ผ
Today is the first proper day of fall (winter?! ๐ฅถ) in Salt Lake City, and with the long-awaited turning of the seasons (pumpkins and all of the attendant October decor just didnโt look quite right in unseasonable 80-degree weather, spooky indeed ๐ป), Iโm reminded of the feeling that time seems to pass languidly in the cold / rainy / snowy seasons.
But then, as if by magic, the first blooms appear, the sun starts to shine more brilliantly, and weโre filled with the lovely sense of hope that seems to permeate everything when spring is on the horizon.
This election season has been a long and arduous one (indeed, it started 4+ years ago ๐ตโ๐ซ). Itโs been fraught, tiring, and anxiety-provoking, but also buoying and confidence-inspiring as motivated citizen activists across the country have tirelessly knocked on doors, made phone calls, and put pen to postcard to safeguard and strengthen our democracy.
With the election 18 days away and just ~5 days remaining to write and mail postcards to voters are who very likely to vote for Democrats if we can get them to the polls (we can!), Iโm sending a very humble reminder that, like all other seasons, this election season will quickly draw to a close โ and I am truly excited to wake up on November 6th (or perhaps a few days later โบ๏ธ) and to see, hear, and feel confirmation that all of our determined efforts to get out the vote all across the land have paid hard-earned dividends for democracy, justice, dignity, and equality.
Do you have some time to join me in this final postcarding sprint? If so, please read on to learn how you can quickly start postcarding today.
Like last weekโฆeager to get involved, but just donโt have the time to put pen to paper in this final stretch? I get it! So, Iโm also humbly asking you again to consider upgrading to a paid newsletter subscription ($60 / year) โ each and every dollar from paid subscriptions directly funds my volunteer postcarding efforts, defraying my out-of-pocket costs for postcards, postage, pens, and highlighters.
Democracy is hard work, and together, weโre putting in the work to sustain and secure our visions for the present and future. As ever, thank you for standing up for democracy. ๐
With hope, gratitude, and so much optimism,
Annie
